A Love for Colour, Nature & Storytelling
Hi, I’m Sally an artist, mum of four, and farmer’s wife living in Narromine and Trangie, NSW. My journey into painting began later in life, sparked by my daughter’s stunning Year 12 artworks. That moment lit a fire in me, and I haven’t put the brush down since. With a background in horticulture, I’ve always had a close connection to the natural world, and that love flows naturally into my art. I see beauty everywhere, in blooming gardens that shift with the seasons, in the character of quirky farm animals, and in the timeless charm of old country homesteads. These everyday details inspire me to create colourful, detailed paintings that feel both familiar and a little magical.
Life on the land with my husband Matt and our four children, Sophie, Heidi, and twins Jeremy and Ben is busy and full, but it also gives me endless inspiration. Our farm is a constant reminder of the rhythm of nature, the importance of home, and the small moments of joy that often go unnoticed. When I paint, I try to capture those moments and turn them into little storybook worlds, places where colour, curiosity, and whimsy come together. Art has given me a way to express myself, to connect with others, and to share the warmth and wonder I feel in my own everyday life.
Artist Statement
“My work celebrates the charm and whimsy of everyday life through a nostalgic and dreamlike lens. Using colourful acrylic paint, I create highly detailed scenes that blend the familiar with the fantastical — cottages nestled in flourishing gardens, animals with gentle personalities, and unexpected moments like a pony standing by a Hills Hoist beneath a pink sky.
Each painting is a little world where colour and curiosity meet quirky. Inspired by childhood memories and a deep love of nature, my art offers warmth, wonder, and quiet joy.”’
